K-Beauty does not have to be complicated
Curious about Korean skincare but not sure where to start? The best routine is often the one you will actually enjoy using. Instead of buying every trending product at once, focus on a gentle cleanser, a moisturiser and daily sun protection, then add extras gradually.
Morning: keep the essentials easy
Cleanse: Start with a mild cleanser suited to your skin type; some people prefer rinsing with water in the morning.
Hydrate: If your skin enjoys extra hydration, a toner such as an option from ANUA can be a pleasant optional step. Toner is not compulsory.
Moisturise: Choose a cream that feels comfortable for your skin. Explore Beauty of Joseon and other moisturisers in our selection.
Protect: Finish with broad-spectrum sunscreen as directed on the label. Sun protection is a cornerstone of a daytime skincare routine, even when using other cosmetic products.
Evening: cleanse and reset
If you wear makeup or water-resistant sunscreen, you may like a two-step cleansing approach: an appropriate first cleanser followed by a gentle water-based cleanser. If your face feels dry or tight, adjust the routine and choose a milder approach.
After cleansing, moisturise. You can introduce a serum later if it addresses a preference such as hydration or texture. Browse skincare from Medicube and COSRX, and always read the usage directions and ingredient lists before combining active formulas.
Choose by how your skin feels
Dry-feeling skin may prefer richer moisturising textures, while someone who dislikes heavier creams may enjoy a lightweight gel. If your skin is sensitive, introduce one new product at a time and consider patch testing. Product suitability varies from person to person.
